integration of facefx Pro animations in unity3d
i'm in france and i would know how integrate facefx professional 2013 in unity3d. i know many persons talk about this but i didn't find the way to do this from begin to the end and one video tutorial which seem solve my probleme is not available(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3enibZvOfd0 from http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/63573-FaceFX-amp-Unity-Facial-animation...). i use Maya 2012 and as i said, i bought the licence of FaceFx. Firstly i used the FaceFx Maya plugin but the generate animation button
is not available too. It's the reason why i bought the licence of faceFX. Someone can put one tutorial to do this please?
Thank you and excuse my french english(my english is poor i know).
The video was taken down because it is no longer accurate. There is no longer a generate animation button on the Max/Maya plugin. You generate animations from FaceFX Studio, then export to FBX, or go to File->Export Collapsed XML and use the integration files to import the XML file.
I replied to the (old) Unity thread where you posted as well. The thread you want to look at for reference is this one:
If you have any questions after reviewing that info, let us know!
Thank for your reply. But, i have some questions for make it work. I Watch this tutoral(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4J36lnsI24&feature=youtu.be) from your link http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/78076-New-FaceFX-Integration-With-Unity....
1: Where can i have the integration files?
I download the unity-demo-facefx file are they the integrations files?
2: I see that in Unity, you have began the tutorial with many files such as Exo-body-Anim, Exo-EyesSpec,... which are in Asset->FaceFx->Example Files; where do you got these files and how have you imported that in Unity? (i suppose maybe they are contained in integration files.
3: In the " Controller Tab" into Unity how have you create the content such as Gesture Layer, Gesture Layer2... and make the different associations whith question, question_iror ... ?
4: I see also you have in your Unity software, the import FaceFx XML option. i havn't it. I suppose it due the fact i havn't integration files?
5: This question is for later, after i make the integration work. If i want to create my owns words with my owns audio files? i just need to modify the text into the text files associates to audio and give them the same name?
And finally, how can i generate animations dynamically in my own application, and make it work by, for example, change the text file associate to the audio animation? I mean speak and see in same real time character animation change.
Sorry for all these questions. Thank for your reply
sorry for the disturbing, just ignore the questions 1, 2 and 3 above from my last old post. I have some problemes for make the integration work I follow the mechanim video(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4J36...ature=youtu.be). My probleme is below:
*In FaceFx Studio Professional:
1- I load the exo.fbx and batch-export-exo files from C:\Program Files (x86)\FaceFX\FaceFX Studio Professional 2013\Samples\Src and the mechanim_facefx audio file from my FaceFx_Mechanim folder ( E:\Unity-FaceFX\FaceFX_Mecanim_Demo\Assets\FaceFX\Example Files) but when i play the animation, only the facial animation is executated while the rest of the body remains inactive.
2- I tried otherwise by taking the mechanic_facefx and exo-animations.fbx files from E:\Unity-FaceFX\FaceFX_Mecanim_Demo\Assets\FaceFX\Example Files with batch-export-exo from (C:\Program Files (x86)\FaceFX\FaceFX Studio Professional 2013\Samples\Src) but the character is load with different appearance and when i play the animation, only the audio and the gesture body is executed; the head stay inactive.
* I use Unity4 version 4.1 and i don't see the asset->import FaceFx XML and others buttons like that, is it normal or must i do some seettings?
Can someone can give me somes solutions?
